Abu Tor
A Mixed Neighborhood
Abu Tor is a mixed Jewish and Arab neighborhood in Jerusalem, built on an eminence south of the Old City.
In modern day Jerusalem it is effectively on the seam line of Jewish and Arab neighborhoods in the city.
Whilst Abu Tor sits close to Talpiyot, the Old City, Katamon and Rehavia, it is also in walking distance of Silwan, Jabal Batin Alhawa and Jabel Mukaber.
From a property perspective, you may be interested in this area as there can be value to the apartments and it is very close to plenty of important spots in Jerusalem.
With its proximity to the Old City, and thanks to the terrain, there are plenty of properties in Abu Tor with a fantastic view of Jerusalem's Old City.
The Dan Boutique Hotel
One of the landmarks of Abu Tor is the Dan Boutique hotel.
Run by the famous Dan chain of hotels, the Dan Boutique hotel is a reasonable place to stay in Jerusalem, both for location and price.
Abu Tor is centrally located to reach virtually all parts of Jerusalem. And, Hebron Road means you can get virtually anywhere via a short car ride.
Abu Tor is also in very close proximity to the First Station, including all the restaurants and bars that are available in one of the landmark and culture sports of modern-day Jerusalem.
Yes Planet in Abu Tor
No mention of Abu Tor in 2021 could miss out on Yes Planet.
Housed in the Sherover Complex, Yes Planet is a complex of sixteen cinema screens flanked in the building by restaurants and cafes. Including Aroma coffee shop and McDonalds.
For Jerusalemites looking to see the latest blockbuster on a big screen, Yes Planet is one of the two best options, alongside Cinema City.
